On Monday April 1st we had the honor of attending the Converse Fall 2013 Press Preview in New York City to see what Converse has in store for their customers later this year.
For the Chuck Taylor All Star collection Converse channeled their inner rock & rock, creating fancy sole with the basement and underground rock band vibe in mind. Studs, zippers hardware, spikes, frayed edges, and leather with some pops of colors that still maintained the rocker edge were found on the classic Chuck Taylor shape. Distressed washes along with a some platform action also made an appearance. For the kids line, vibrant hues, and funky patterns like flames for the boys and animal prints for the girls with multi, twill tongues and metallic laces for the girls. The Converse Fall 2013 All Star collection will launch globally on July 1st, 2013.
Also at the press preview were their premium footwear collaborations.
With the Jack Purcell collection you can expect tons of color from Golden Flame to Midnight Lake, camo prints, slender laces, slimmer toe boxes, and distressed canvas low top kicks. The Jack Purcell line will also be introducing a women’s only shoe, the Jane Salt Washed.
For the Converse by John Varvatos collection that rock and roll inspiration comes back with a slight twist. Con studs and staples appear on the Weapon silhouette. Snake prints and metal zippers coated with a scraped back finish that show off pops of color are found on the All Stars.
The Converse ♥ Marimekko Chuck Taylor All Star unisex sneakers come in high and low top version with loud graphic prints and even some black soles, which we’re a huge fan of.
With the Deus Ex Machina and First String collections details were the center of attention on these Converse. Premium suede accompanied heavy weight canvas upper in black, and burgundy. Japanese Terry Cloth, Italian Cashmere, and digital print Buro as well as actual Buro material are found in the First String collaboration.
These collaborations will launch globally on July 1st, 2013
The CONS collection features skateboarding and lifestyle shoes. For the skateboarding line Converse used memory foam in the shoes for a more custom feel, abrasion resistant suede, cup sole technology, Nike Lunarlon sock liner, and skateboarding traction rubber helped created the kicks in shades of blue, grey, red, gold and black. Leather and suede combos were found in the lifestyle collection.
